Chasing Clouds: Your Route to Munnar
Adventure starts the moment you leave home—here’s how to get here smoothly.

Touch Down, Then Take Off to the Hills
Rails to the Hills
If trains are your style, hop off at one of these stations:
• Aluva Railway Station (ALU) — About 110 km away, your gateway to a smooth road journey after a scenic train ride.
• Ernakulam Junction (ERS) — Approximately 130 km from Munnar, with easy access to taxis and buses.
• Ernakulam North (ERSN) — Another major station about 125 km from Munnar, convenient for many travelers.
• Teni Railway Station (TENI) — About 90 km from Munnar, a convenient station especially if you’re coming from Tamil Nadu.
From any of these stations, you’re just a comfortable car or bus ride away from misty mornings and tea plantations.
And hey — don’t worry about figuring out the last leg! If you want, we’ll be there to pick you up with a smile, a cup of tea, and maybe a local story or two. Just give us a shout!
Your gateway to Munnar by air is through two airports:
Cochin International Airport (COK) — Around 3.5 to 4 hours of scenic drive through winding mountain roads (approx. 110 km).
Madurai Airport (IXM) — A little further away but just as beautiful, with about 4 hours of road travel (approx. 130 km).
From the airport, a comfortable taxi ride or private transfer is the best way to soak in the changing landscapes.
Fancy skipping the hassle? We can arrange pick-up so you arrive refreshed and ready.
Curves, Clouds & Tea Breaks
• From Kochi (Cochin): Around 4 hours via NH85. Warning: the views may slow you down more than the traffic.
• From Kottayam: A beautiful 3.5 to 4-hour drive. Hills, spice-scented air, and the occasional cow blocking the road—pure Kerala.
• From Thrissur: Roughly 4.5 hours of road-tripping goodness through forest edges and sleepy little towns.
• From Madurai: About 4 hours of scenic winding roads through the Western Ghats. Bonus points if you spot wild elephants (from a distance!).
Prefer someone else to handle the curves while you snack and stare out the window? We’ve got reliable taxis, and even more reliable drivers, who know when to slow down for the best photo ops.
Road Survival Tips (Munnar Edition)
• Don’t race the hills—take your time, roll down your windows, and let the fresh tea-scented air do its thing.
• Monsoon roads = wet, wild, and wonderful. Just don’t forget your umbrella and your patience.
• Want someone else to do the navigating, honking, and chai-stopping? We know some legendary drivers with playlists to match.
• Pack snacks, maybe even some ginger candy — for your soul and your stomach. Trust us.
